Conditions we treat

Hand Fractures and Dislocations Fractures and dislocations of the bones and joints of the hand are common – the hand being the most frequently injured part of the body. Photos and x-rays of some cases are presented here. Fractures of the distal radius and scaphoid are discussed elsewhere.
Nerve and Tendon Lacerations Finger and hand lacerations, if sufficiently deep, pose a risk to the underlying nerves and tendons. This can be either on the palmar (flexor) surface of the hand, or indeed the dorsal (extensor) surface.
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) This is an umbrella term for symptoms of upper limb and hand pain that may be caused by repetitive tasks, exertions, vibrations or mechanical compression, or sustained or awkward positions. As such, it has also been called “Work related Upper Limb Disorder” or WRULD.
